Wann kommt das nächste Android-Update? Auf vielen Smartphones läuft noch nicht einmal Android 13. Doch Google arbeitet bereits mit Hochdruck an Android 14.
Der Release der finalen Version von Android 14 erfolgt voraussichtlich im August 2023. Die erste Developer Preview gab es aber schon im Februar, die erste Beta-Version im April. Auf der Entwicklerkonferenz Google I/O gab es im Mai einen Blick auf geplante Funktionen.
Wer aktuell ein Android-Gerät nutzt, fragt sich natürlich: Wird mein Smartphone oder Tablet noch das Update auf Android 14 erhalten? Von einigen Herstellern gibt es inzwischen recht umfangreiche Update-Versprechen, andere halten sich eher zurück mit konkreten Aussagen.
In unsere Liste geben wir einen Überblick über die geplanten Android-14-Updates. Anfangs basierend auf den Update-Versprechen der Hersteller, später ergänzen wir natürlich auch konkretere Ankündigungen und Termine, sobald diese verfügbar sind. Aktueller Stand: 22. Mai 2023
Wann erscheint Android 14?
Google hat die erste Entwickler-Vorschau für Android 14 am 8. Februar 2023 veröffentlicht und lag damit im gleichen Zeitrahmen wie im letzten Jahr. Auch die Veröffentlichung der zweiten Beta erfolgte planmäßig zur Google I/O. Entsprechend dürfen wir wohl mit einem finalen Release von Android 14 im August rechnen.

Wann liefern die Hersteller Android-14-Updates?
Einige Hersteller haben mit Release der Beta 2 von Android 14 bereits damit begonnen, das Update auf ersten Geräten zu testen. Wir können also darauf hoffen, dass dann auch der Rollout nach dem offiziellen Start von Android 14 schnell beginnt. Insgesamt sind viele Hersteller heutzutage schneller dabei, die Updates zu verteilen, als dies früher der Fall war.
Unsere Update-Liste für Android 14 ist alphabetisch sortiert nach Hersteller und dann nach Gerätename. Wir stützen uns zunächst auf allgemeine Update-Versprechen der Hersteller und Erfahrungswerte, später kommen auch offizielle Roadmaps und angekündigte Termine dazu. Feste Garantien können wir natürlich nicht geben, auch weil sich die Pläne der Hersteller kurzfristig ändern können. Neue Informationen zu Updates ergänzen wir laufend.

Als Android-Hersteller versorgt Google seine Smartphones natürlich als erstes mit den neuesten Updates. So waren die Preview-Versionen und die erste Beta exklusiv auf den Pixel-Smartphones ab dem Pixel 4a verfügbar. Diese Geräte werden auch als erste die finale Version von Android 14 erhalten.
